Maisie was missing for 3 weeks to the date. She escaped by bolting out the front door when my partner got home from work at 5am, we’ve had her for 3 years and she’s never shown any interest in trying to run outside before. We kept posting everywhere we could on social media, community groups and spoke to every person in our street and the surrounds. After about a week we got a message from a neighbour saying she had spotted Maisie on her security cameras a few times over the last few days. Our neighbour was generous enough to let us set up a cat trap at her place, and after another 2 weeks, we finally caught her in the trap!
We were also going out for walks at dusk, and just before dawn every day with her treats and some roast chicken to try and coax her out of wherever she was hiding.
My biggest advice would be to not stop searching every day, you never know how close they could be hiding! Maisie was caught only 2 houses down from us. Good luck to everyone, I hope all the fur babies return home.
