The 3am call worked for me
He was missing 50 hours in total
Never been outside before, he escaped when the hot water system died and leaked and flooded my toilet room and in all the commotion and panic of me running in and out of the house from the water maine, power box and flooded room, he's slipped out and I didn't properly notice for 15 hours when I came home from work the next day, because I assumed he was hiding with his sister cat, I had an electrician and plumber here to fix the hot water system, and that's what my cats do when strangers are here, they hide in the house.
I was beyond distraught, in emotional agony with him missing. I searched a 5 house radius in every direction and left his kitty litter outside. I kept the doors open and lights on all night and slept close by with alarms set to go walking the middle of the night. That's what worked, he responded immediately at 3.45am where as at other times even midnight he stayed silent out of fear of exposing himself to predators. He was literally only under the house across the road.
