Lost Dog in Spotswood is reunited

ID: 177993

Fortunately he ran down a dead end street and a resident (Tom) found him and held him until my husband got there. Lucky we had our phone number on his harness. Ever so grateful to Tom. Murphy totally unaware of the heartache caused just thought it was a grand adventure. Thanks also to the various Boxer facebook groups who quickly shared our post.
Also a few people commented to get him microchipped - he is! Another comment said to get him desexed - he is 8 months old and vet recommended to wait till over 12 months old - it is not the reason he ran off! The reason that we lost him was our fault entirely, he had been let off lead, he is normally very good with his recall and doesn't usually go very far from us but he got a fright due to a loud unexpected noise and just bolted. So even if your pup normally has good recall, put a long line on him when in unfamiliar areas.
Thank you for all those people that responded positively. Would also suggest if you own a pup you have a plan of what to do in these situations in advance, it is very hard to think about what to do when under stress.
