How we found Miyu.
My husband and I were staying in an airbnb in Middle Park, Victoria.
We arrived at the property and I noticed the bathroom had a musty smell.
I just cracked open the window in the bathroom to get some fresh air.
We started unpacking and noticed Miyu was wasn't around.
Miyu loves to be part of what is going on.
We started to look for her, and we couldn't find her anywhere.
Then we thought.....Oh No, Miyu must have gone out the window as we couldn't find her anywhere within the apartment.
We then become frantic in our search, looking and repeating looking in every possible place.
We went outside and started searching the immediate area, calling her name.
We walked past a house and the owners were sitting out on their porch.
We asked them if they had seen a tabby cat, etc in the area recently? As they hadn't, we explained our story.
The couple were really wonderful, very kind, helpful and comforting.
The man put his runners on and we all went out calling for Miyu for hours.
My husband and I eventually went home as darkness was approaching, we were in tears and disbelief.
We sat at the dining room table utterly distressed and exhausted.
I started looking on the internet for help and found this site.
I registered Miyu missing...we were hoping it would help, it was certainly comforting.
We then got ready to continue our search into the night....
When my husband noticed a tiny fireplace in the dining room.
He said, "Could she be up the chimney?"
I went over to the chimney, and there I beheld the most magnificent sight, a pair of green wide eyes looking down at me, a body covered in soot, and it was our Miyu, she was safe.
Lesson:
Never open a window even a little bit in a foreign place, ...study all the places a cat could possibly hide.
And people really do surprise you in ones hour of need.

It was a terrible time, a cats'parents worst nightmare.
