LOCAL POUNDS & SHELTERS ACT
Regardless of where in Canberra ACT your cat or dog was lost there are two most important places you need to check asap: DAS - Domestic Animal Services pound and the RSPCA pound. Both display their impounded pets online. DAS also has outside pens for people who found a pet outside work hours and cannot keep it. They can bring it and leave it in the outside pens for safe keeping until it can be registered and impounded.

You can leave a FOUND DOG at the drop-off pens at the front of the DAS facility if you found it after hours.
Two drop off kennels are located adjacent to the main gate. Dogs left in the drop off kennels will be collected the following morning.
